Safari Royal Holdings and Old Nyika Safaris, operated by McCallum Safaris, have four adjacent hunting concessions in South West Tanzania covering just under 1.8 million acres. Lukwati North Game Reserve, Chunya Lukwati, Chunya Msami.
These contiguous concessions border the Rungwa River in the north, Piti River to the East and Lake Rukwa to the West. These are well-watered areas that consist of Miombo woodland, flood plains, rocky outcrops, mountain ranges and numerous smaller rivers – both seasonal and permanent. These concessions have large herds of buffalo, resident all year round, and are well known for outstanding lion, leopard, and sable as well as a variety of other animals such as roan, greater kudu, hippo, crocodile, eland, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, oribi, klipspringer, bushbuck, zebra, and duiker.
With McCallum Safaris you can also hunt the Northern species in exclusive areas that produce outstanding lesser kudu and gerenuk as well as many of the other species found in Masailand such as fringe-eared Oryx, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle, white-bearded wildebeest, zebra, and ostrich. Later in the year we also offer fantastic Cape buffalo hunting.
Our concessions cover just under 2 million acres
